Professional regulations for lawyers: The Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO), the Professional Code of Conduct for Lawyers (BORA), the Code of Conduct for Lawyers of the European Union (CCBE), the Professional Regulations for Lawyers of the European Union (FAO), as well as the Lawyers’ Remuneration Act (RVG) apply to the exercise of the activities of lawyers. The professional regulations can be viewed and accessed in German and English on the homepage of the German Federal Bar Association under the heading “Berufsrecht”. The representation of conflicting interests is prohibited for attorneys under professional law (Section 43a (4) BRAO). Before accepting a mandate, we therefore always check whether there is a conflict of interest.

Out-of-court dispute resolution: In the event of disputes between attorneys and their clients, there is the possibility of out-of-court dispute resolution upon request at the Düsseldorf Bar Association or at the Arbitration Board of the Bar at the Federal Bar Association, to be found on the Internet via the homepage of the Federal Bar Association, e-mail:
